Daisy Foster is a Somerset based artist and illustrator who specialises in watercolour. Much of her work is influenced by her roots in the West Country and her travels in Europe and beyond. She has a particular affinity with the beautiful landscape of Provence, in the south of France, and her work shows a sensitivity to light, colour and space. She constantly strives to evoke a sense of atmosphere in her work, and thinks it’s important that her paintings emulate the temperature and emotion of the subject.
Her delicate illustrative work in pen and watercolour is inspired by children’s stories, poetry and a colourful imagination. From flowers to fairy tales, each drawing is reminiscent of childhood memories and delights adults and children alike.
Daisy sells her work in galleries and exhibitions throughout the South West, and also takes commissions. These vary from landscapes and children’s paintings to, during the last ten years, capturing the familiarity and warmth of people’s houses, where she has been noted for being able sense the feel of the home, without having actually seen it in reality.
She also has a beautiful range of greetings cards, published by Soul Trader, called ‘the fairy way,’ which sell across the world.
